WHO WE ARE
New Congregational is a church that’s committed to being theologically sound, socially conscious, and culturally audacious! Founded in 1968, New Congregational is tethered to the rich legacy of the Black Church tradition while remaining relevant to the needs and concerns of our community and world today. From our multi-generational membership to the neighborhood around us, everything we do is designed to encourage the brokenhearted, energize the believer, and enrich the Body of Christ.

Will I be welcomed if I don't wear a suit/dress?
When you visit NCMBC, you’ll see folks wearing their Sunday’s best, and others dressed more casually. We don’t care what you wear, as long as it’s modest—whether three-piece or jeans; dress and church hat or blouse and khakis. Come as you are.
-
How long do your services last?
Our virtual Wednesday evening Bible study is an hour long. Sunday school is roughly 45-60 minutes long. Our Sunday morning worship begins at 10AM and ends between 11:45AM and 12PM.

Why do you use the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible?
We teach from the ESV, Because we believe this “word-for-word” translation is better suited to expositional teaching, which is the way we teach the Bible at NCMBC. Expositional teaching is focused on explaining the meaning of a Biblical text in its historical and grammatical context, with application for our present-day.
The ESV seeks to retain strength of “formal” translation, while at the same time smoothing out word choice and order so that it is more easily read and understood privately and publicly.
